the bubbling sidewalk
whooooamygod! 6 june! i'm actually not sure whether i should be excited or not, as i've kind of gotten over the stripes--...i'll probably download it.i've discovered that listening to pulp while walking has pretty much the same effect as wearing underwear with a french tickler built in.discovery #4879: i can make potatoes in a pan all by myself. it took a lot of butter and some sharp objects, but the result was almost like real food! for a minute i forgot i was in college. thank you, potatoes, for cooperating. i just hope the potato was still good, as it had been in my fridge for...probably longer than it should have been. so really, i won't be able to tell if this was a success or not until a few hours from now when i know whether or not the potato killed me, gave me a rare skin disease, or made all my neurons fire in the wrong directions. perhaps shall update again in about four hours to either assure everyone that i'm fine or announce that i won't be able to livejournal from the hospital.i don't think my brain wants to process poetry anymore. i tried to read some today and it just didn't work. all those line breaks...?it hailed today.

i'm not even excited about the new stripes, which makes me sort of sad, but not really because i am on to Bigger and Better Things. like...jazz! and...radiohead! and....uhhhhh.....blur? lolz.
i dunno, i'm excited to hear what they come up with (and how many more son house covers they can get away with. lolz). i never stopped liking them, really, i just moved onto other things (blur and radiohead, defffinitely) and just...fell out of the jack-worship stage.i kind of go back and forth about how i feel about them, but i think i've decided that they're not bad. they're just not as amazing as i thought they were at one point. (and by "at one point" i mean "for a solid year.") i'm listening to old skool stripes right now, actually.
they should just become a son house cover band. or a cover band in general. their best three songs were covers.see...i was sort of madly obsessed with them for a year, and towards the end of that year my obsession was starting to wane, and i went to go see them live, which had the potential to end it or rekindle my love. and they...weren't good. not really at all. and so that sort of killed it for me, because...what the hell is a garage band that isn't good live!??? and i'm sort of sick of the records. i listened to them and only them for months and months, for hours every day. i mean...i really wore them out. i can't do it anymore.
White Stripes have a new album? fucking a.I just got into their self titled, I bought it for my dad like...three years ago.
they probably could and they'd still have critics drooling all over them. i kind of wore them out too. today is the first time i've listened to them since...last summer? i guess it could be that i just don't want to do that complete 180 and think i was stupid for liking them, as they did do a ton of covers and the writing in their other songs isn't anything terribly special. but then again, i remember being really, really impressed by the liner notes. the man can fucking write. he just doesn't really show it in his lyrics. it only shows up in the liner notes. the ones he did for holly golightly's album are probably my favorite....i'm just thinking out loud now.they're kind of like franz ferdinand for me in that they helped kick off a new trend in music, introduced me to some neat ideas, i was obsessed with them, i eventually got over them, but i'll always respect them at least a little because they were "that band" for so long.
i think the self-titled is my favorite. it seems a lot more powerful somehow than their other stuff.
track two, whatever song that may be, makes me feel as if Jack is stepping on my nuts..but in a good way.
ahaha! i think i know what you mean...
they're interesting, they're eccentric, people like to write about them. i was reading an interview with brendan benson and he was sort of bemoaning the fact that they were so popular and he wasn't...he said that jack was eccentric almost to the point of annoyance, which i found sort of lolz! especially since the only reason anyone fucking knows who he is is because the stripes are so big...i dunno, it didn't really seem like he was trash talking or anything, probably just bemoaning his lack of success. still, though, sort of gay!ahahaha i am listening to the funniest radiohead interview! oh my god, why are they so great?!?!?
well, yeah, true.oh, brendan benson. i almost bought your album once for the sole reason that you're related to jack white. lolz.pretty much you should send that to me.
aim!

Oh, and, uh, yeah, the White Stripes.I kind of don't want them to release more records. Is that weird?I just don't know how much more they can accomplish...Just thinking of how this time a few years ago, the rock press was raving on about how they would change the world, etc...OBVIOUSLY NOT A FAKT!I'm burnt out on them, definitely.LOLZ SIDENOTE: I heard the Bravery for the first time yesturday! Oh em gee! I wanted to thrust a rusty object of some sort into my ears. SO FUCKING TERRIBLE. BLAND. SHITE SHITE SHITE. 'SUP?Send me the new Gorillaz, kthnx, it's pritty awesumX10.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
nah, it's not weird.they changed the music scene for a while, but they're definitely not quite as special as i once thought they were.is that the guy with the awful makeup? isn't his name dirt? adam ant wannabe man?i want to bust out laughing whenever i see him.wtf i hate them so much.i think some of the new gorillaz files i got might be corrupted. i played one of them and it only went for twenty seconds and i cried a lot because gorillaz soooo sexual chocolate.
STFU LOLZ
i'm finding it kind of difficult to be excited.you : suede :: me : white stripes
